Acudetox
Acupuncture needles, acupressure seeds, & a well-deserved nervous system reset.
Service Description
Also known as the NADA 5-Point Ear Acupuncture protocol, is a gentle ear acupuncture practice designed to support relaxation, emotional balance, & nervous system regulation. Originally developed in addiction recovery settings, this protocol is now widely used in community health, behavioral health, & wellness spaces to support people navigating stress, overwhelm, recovery, burnout, & life transitions. Acudetox works by stimulating 5 specific acupuncture points on the ear that correspond with different systems in the body. This stimulation can encourage the body’s natural relaxation response, helping shift the nervous system from heightened stress toward a calmer, more regulated state. Because Acudetox is a nonverbal modality, it can be especially supportive for those who may not want to talk through everything they are carrying. The focus is simply on creating a calm & respectful environment where the body has space to settle. This hour is an invitation to pause, be supported, & allow yourself a moment of quiet care in the midst of everything you may be carrying. What to Expect Sessions are approximately 1 hour & begin with a brief check-in before placing acupuncture needles or ear seeds on specific points of the ear. The majority of the session is spent resting quietly while the points are stimulated. Many people use this time to close their eyes, breathe deeply, meditate, or simply rest. Treatment Options Sessions may include: • Acupuncture needles • Vaccaria ear seeds (plant-based) • Stainless steel ear seeds • 24k Gold-plated ear seeds • 24k Gold-plated ear seeds with rhinestones • Needles followed by ear seeds for continued support Ear seeds are small beads or seeds placed on acupuncture points using gentle adhesive. They provide ongoing stimulation & can help extend the supportive effects of treatment for several days. Accessibility & Community Care Sessions are available through house calls or mutually agreed-upon meet-up locations. This offering is currently available on a Pay-What-You-Can donation or trade basis with a suggested donation of $15–$25. The intention is that money not be a barrier to accessing a tangible modality of care. Donations help cover supplies, travel, & the broader goal of bringing this work to marginalized communities. Note Acudetox is a complementary wellness practice intended to support relaxation & nervous system regulation. It is not a substitute for medical care, mental health treatment, emergency care, or
